Riverdale, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team hosted their first Skyline Conference matchup of 2019, as Sarah Lawrence College made the trip to Riverdale on Wednesday afternoon. While the game was tightly contested throughout, CMSV ultimately fell to the Gryphons by the score of 1-0.
Over the first 45 minutes of play, the Dolphins defense played as stout as possible, with freshman goaltender
Kora-Lynn McCullough saved all four shots she saw while
Lauren Vetoulis,
Madison Schultz and
Alyssa Santeramo kept things tight in front of their teammate.
The second half, however, told a different story. While the team continued playing strong overall, the Gryphons buried the one and only goal of the game in the 68
th minute. On the offensive side of things,
Cristina Britton,
Emily McCarthy and
Grace Barry each had a shot on goal while Britton registered a team-high six shots.
The Dolphins will get back on the pitch on October 2 when they head to Purchase, New York to take on Manhattanville College. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
