Dobbs Ferry, NY - After an impressive start in conference play against SUNY Purchase the Dolphins were looking to carry over their success into Saturday's games against the Rams of Farmingdale. After a long day the Women came up empty and fell to the Rams both games. Game #1 the women fell 13-2 and they lost 11-2 in the second game.
The Rams came out with their bats ready to go on Saturday afternoon as they opened up the scoring early with three runs in the first. After this the Dolphins locked in and would hold the top seeded Rams scoreless over the next two innings of play. In the bottom of the third
Breeze-Lyn Morita drove in
Alicia Blevins to cut the deficit to 3-1. The Rams would get two run back in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to four.
Taylor Milata would do her best to keep the Dolphins in striking distance with a solo home run to bring the score to 5-2. Despite cutting the lead to three in the fourth the Rams get hot in the 5th scoring eight runs to extend their lead to 13-2 and end the game in the fifth inning.
The second game of the day was near identical. The Rams would have two good innings at the plate that would prove to be enough to defeat CMSV. The Rams saw six runs come across the plate in the second inning and five more runs in the seventh. For the Dolphins the only offense they would get in the second game of the day was from
Abigail Laurendeau as she registered the only RBI for the Dolphins as well as scored the second run. Farmingdale would go on to win the second game 11-2.
The Women will be right back in action Sunday as they travel to Long Island to take on Old Westbury in another Skyline Conference match up. CMSV now sits at an overall record of 5-14 and a Skyline Conference record of 2-2.
