Box Score Kings Point, NY- The Men's Lacrosse team headed to Long Island to open up conference play with last years conference champions. The Dolphins were looking to start conference play on the right foot. After a strong first quarter the Mariners from USMMA pulled away to defeat CMSV 23-2.
To open up the game Freshmen Patrick Nagy got the Dolphins going with a snipe from 15 yards out. CMSV now with 1-0 lead needed their defense to hold strong and that is what they did for the first eight minutes. That is all thanks to Christian Brody who was playing unreal in the cage. USMMA would finally get on the board with two quick goals to end the first period with the Dolphins trailing 2-1. The second quarter started the same as the opening frame as CMSV registered another goal this time from senior Jarrett Mclean which tied the game at two. The Mariners would then go on a 11-0 run to end the half leading 13-2. Despite the score Brody continued his strong play making 16 saves in the first half.
The Mariners would continue their run in the second half scoring five goals and extending their run to 16-0 while increasing the lead to 18-2. Brody would continue to impress making six more saves in the quarter making this his fourth twenty save game of the season. The Mariners would add five more goals in the fourth to win 23-2. Brody finished the day with 29 saves.
The Dolphins will be back in action this Thursday as they travel to La Plume, PA to take on Keystone College.
