Aston, PA - The Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Pennsylvania this weekend after coming off their first victory of the season. They were looking to continue their winning ways and get their record back to .500. Although the Dolphins got off to a solid start Neumann University proved to be to much and defeated CMSV 22-5.
The first quarter was a defensive battle, for the Dolphins goalie Christian Brody started off hot making seven saves in the opening frame. Neumann jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the quarter but Freshman Matthew Pincus got the offense going with a goal in the final minute of the quarter to cut the deficit in half. The first quarter would end with Dolphins trailing 2-1. The second quarter was one to forget for CMSV as they struggled through the entirety of it. Neumann who dominated at the face-off X would get their offense going. Despite Brody continuing his good day in net, Neumann would add seven goals and extend their lead to 9-1. Freshmen Patrick Nagy would finally stop the bleeding as he found the back of the net before halftime to shrink the lead to seven. CMSV would go into halftime trailing 9-2.
The third and fourth quarter mirrored the second as the Dolphins continued to struggle. Neumann would pour it on and continue to add to their lead. CMSV ended up dropping the contest 22-5. Brody was the lone bright spot for the Dolphins making 23 saves on the day.
Looking ahead the Dolphins will take on SUNY Cobleskill this Thursday March 21st at 4PM at Tibbets Brook Park. The Dolphins and the Fighting Tigers have played to one goal games each of the past two years. The Dolphins now sit at an overall record of 1-3.
