Ft. Pierce, FL - In their fourth game of the Spring Break trip to Florida, the College of Mount Saint Vincent's baseball team took on Kenyon College. After winning two of their last three games, the Dolphins struggled against the Lords, losing by the score of 12-4.
It was all Kenyon College throughout a majority of the contest, as they scored seven unanswered runs through eight innings of play. The Dolphins, however, wouldn't go down without a fight, as they finally got things going in the bottom of the eighth. Down 7-0, catcher
Matt Albert came to the dish with the bases loaded. The sophomore proceeded to knock in two runs with a single, cutting the Lords' lead to five. The hit was followed up by a two-RBI double by sophomore
Tyler Paulino, bringing the score to 7-4.
Despite gaining momentum in the bottom of the eighth, Kenyon College's strong offensive performance continued. The Lords' scored an additional five runs in their final inning at the plate and secured their victory. The Dolphins, however, had bright spots in the loss. Sophomore
Matt DiNorcia had another strong performance at the plate with three hits on the afternoon. Freshman
Michael Grisanti was a constant in the batting order once again with two hits and two walks while the aforementioned duo of Albert and Paulino paced the team with two RBI apiece.
Now sitting on an even .500 down in Florida, the Dolphins will look to finish their trip on a high note. They'll play in their finale on Saturday when they take on Wheaton College of Illinois. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
