Riverdale, N.Y. - After dropping a home contest to Hunter College earlier this week, CMSV's men's volleyball hit the road and headed south to take on New Jersey City University with the hopes that they could get their second win of the 2019 season. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the Gothic Knights were too strong to overcome, as they captured the victory in three consecutive sets.
Despite the 3-0 loss, the Dolphins played well throughout. Junior
Brendan Ryan and sophomore
Jose Estrella played well enough to keep their team close in the first and third sets, as both players tied for a team lead in kills with six.
Padelis Astrinidis also had a strong evening of play, registering 10 assists while adding an ace and a block to his stat sheet.
Tim Donnelly (one kill, 10 digs),
Christian Santiago (six digs) and
Jeremy Gonzalez (two aces) all performed admirably for the Dolphins throughout the contest.
The men's volleyball team will return to action on March 7 when they'll host Baruch College at 7 PM.
