Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Dolphins Drop Season Opener Verse Ravens

Bryn Mawr, PA

The Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Rosemont college to take on the Ravens in non-conference action. The Dolphins were looking to start their season on a high-note and win the season opener. Despite a valiant effort the Dolphins came up short.

The first quarter was an up and down affair that resulted in the Dolphins trailing 4-0. Junior Goalkeeper Christian Brody kept CMSV in the contest with four first quarter saves. Defensively freshmen Anthony Manna and Sophomore Nick Distefano shined creating turnovers and scooping up multiple ground-balls.

The second quarter was much of the same as Rosemont outscored the Dolphins 5-1 in the frame. Brody continued to make saves to keep the Dolphins in the contest. Freshmen Patrick Nagy started things up for the Dolphins when he registered his first collegiate goal. CMSV would head into halftime trailing 9-1.

After halftime the Dolphins came out on fire scoring three goals in just three minutes of play to close the gap to 9-4. All three Dolphins goals were scored by Nagy who continued his stellar debut. Rosemont would get one back and push the lead back to six. But moments later Nagy found a wide open Jarrett McLean who found the back of the cage to bring the Dolphins back within five. This was as close as the Dolphins would get as Rosemont would extend their lead to 13–5 going into the fourth.

The pace slowed down dramatically in the fourth as only four goals were scored in the period. Rosemont netted three and the Dolphin's Thomas Hanley scored the lone goal of the fourth quarter. CMSV would go on to lose 16-6.

The Dolphins now have a week off before their next contest where they will travel back to Pennsylvania to take on Keystone College. The Dolphins are now 0-1 on the season.
