Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Dolphins Fall To Rams Despite Hot Shooting

Farmingdale, NY

The Women's Basketball team headed to Long Island with hopes of keeping themselves in the Skyline Conference playoff picture. Despite shooting an impressive 45% from the field the Dolphins fell to the host Rams by a score of 102-77.

Farmingdale certainly came to play on their senior day as they were feeling it in the first half which resulted in them scoring 53 points on 46% from the field. The Dolphins hot shooting helped keep them close throughout the first half as they shot an even better 51%. What hurt the Dolphins in the first half was the 12 turnovers which lead to multiple easy layups for the Rams. Dez Brown continued her impressive season with thirteen points in the first half, Senior Yamilersy Reyes was all over the stat sheet in the first half recording two points eight rebounds and seven assists.

The second half the Ram's stayed hot and quickly extended their 12-point lead to twenty-one just three minutes into the second half. Farmingdale never looked back as they continued their hot shooting, despite the Dolphins hard fought effort the defensive pressure from the Rams proved to be too much for CMSV to handle. Even in the loss the Dolphins had impressive four players in double digits. Brown, Gabriella Goldman, Aria Rheams and freshmen Aaliyah Lyn. Brown finished the day with 19 points and five rebounds, Goldman added 16 points, Rheams chipped in 14 and Lyn added 11 of her own.

The Dolphins will have one last chance to keep their playoff hopes alive as they travel to Purchase on Saturday afternoon. The women currently sit at an overall record of 6-16 and a Skyline Conference record of 5-12.
