The Women's basketball team traveled to near by Skyline Conference foe in hopes of avenging an early season loss as well as ending the season on a high note. After a hard fought contest the women fell short and dropped the contest 76-61
The Dolphins could not have asked for a better start as they jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead two minutes of the game thanks to a Yamilersy Reyes three and layups by Aria Rheams and Dez Brown. Purchase would quickly respond with a 15-6 run which resulted in a tie with 3 minutes left to play in the quarter. The high scoring 1st ended with the panthers leading 28-23. The scoring slowed down in the second quarter, Purchase opened up the frame and extended their lead to 37-25. But a quick run from the Dolphins resulted with CMSV trailing 39-32 heading into halftime.Â
The second half the panthers managed to keep their distance from the Dolphins as the score never got closer than seven. Despite the loss Brown and Reyes had yet another great showing as they both registered double doubles with 17 points each. Rheams chipped in with 13 points and 6 rebounds to end her sophomore campaign.Â
The Dolphins just missed the Skyline Conference playoffs and now will be headed to the off-season and look to build off the many positives they had this season. CMSV finishes with an overall record of 6-17 and a 5-13 record in the Skyline.Â
