Riverdale, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent women's basketball team got their season underway on Wednesday evening against Ramapo College. The season opener did not go as planned, but there were plenty of bright spots to take out of the 73-48 loss.
After a tightly contested first half, the Ramapo Roadrunners seemed to find their groove late in the third quarter. What was an eight-point game with seven minutes remaining in the third slowly slipped away from the Dolphins, as the Roadrunners fed the ball inside and knocked down their open threes when they had the opportunity. On the offensive end for the Dolphins, it was
Aria Rheams getting it done as the junior had 19 points on the evening to go along with seven rebounds. Senior
DarNeisha Brice was the other Dolphin in double figures as the senior scored 10 of her own in her CMSV debut. The women are still learning coach
Phil Stern's system. The year is still very young and the CMSV fans having something to look forward to.
CMSV now sits at an overall record of 0-1. The team will be looking for their first win of the season this coming weekend on Saturday as the Dolphins host Randolph College at 12:00 PM right here at the Peter Jay Sharp Center.
