Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Struggles At Home Against Knights

Riverdale, NY - The men's soccer team was finally on their home field for Skyline Conference play on Saturday. While the Dolphins were looking to secure their first skyline conference victory as well as their first home win of 2019, they dropped the hard fought battle to Mount Saint Mary College by the score of 2-1

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, CMSV got off to a slow start. The Knights took advantage of it as they found the back of the net twice in the opening frame - once in the 23rd minute and their second goal just seven minutes later in the 30th minute. After the two goals, the Dolphins would lock in defensively and played lights out the rest of the match. The strong defensive play by the Dolphins was led by freshman Anthony Lima.

As the second half started, you could see the Dolphins were playing like a different team out there. They consistently put pressure on the Knights defense possession after possession. The constant pressure would pay off just two minutes into the second half as Sory Konate found Maurico Ricalde cutting down the backside. Ricalde would finish the beautiful pass with a header. CMSV, now trailing by just one, could taste their first conference win. The Dolphins would do everything they could offensively to tie the game up at two but unfortunately they could not find the back of the net and would lose a heartbreaker by the score of 2-1.

The men now sit at an overall record of 1-9 and a Skyline Conference record of 0-4. The Dolphins, despite their record, have plenty of time to right the ship and make a run at a playoff spot.
