Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Dolphins Sweep Tri-Match, Defeat Oneonta and Pratt

Riverdale, NY- The Mount Saint Vincent women's volleyball team hosted a tri-match this Saturday featuring Pratt Institute and Oneonta State. The Dolphins were looking to get back on a winning streak after falling to Manhattanville earlier in the week. They did just that as they won to five set thrillers over both Pratt (25-11,25-14,23-25,27-29,16-14) and Oneonta (25-23, 25-27, 30-28, 25-22 15-11)

Today was a great day for the Dolphins. Not only did CMSV win both matches but they got back into the groove of things and looked like a championship caliber team by the end of the day. The Dolphins got contributions from all over the roster all afternoon. Tara Maloney and Samantha Schroeder led the way on the offensive end, registering 29 kills each over the 10 sets of play. Dez Brown would follow them up with 21 kills of her own. Brown shined on the defensive end as well, recording eight blocks on the day. Holding down the backend of the defense was Madison Gale and Alexandra Rio who had 27 and 26 digs respectively. Gale had her strongest game of the season as she added 89 assists on the day, 51 of which came in the second game against Oneonta. After today's big wins the Dolphins seem to be hitting their stride at the perfect time much like a season ago.

CMSV now sits at an overall record of 15-9, the ladies will now get back into conference play when they travel to nearby Skyline Conference foe Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday.
