Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Dolphins Continue Winning Streak, Defeat Rams 3-2

Riverdale, NY – The men's soccer team continued their five game home stand on Thursday afternoon looking to push their winning streak to three games. After 90 minutes of high level soccer the Dolphins did just that, defeating Farmingdale 3-2. The Dolphins have now kept their Skyline playoff hopes alive.

CMSV came out ready to go by firing on all cylinders and creating multiple opportunities. After dominating possession for the whole first half they would finally find the back of the net in 34th minute to take a 1-0 lead thank to Santiago Ferrer who found a cutting Sory Konate for the goal. The second half saw the Dolphins start with the same energy as Antonio Padilla found former club teammate Adam Maryniewski for a goal to put CMSV ahead by two. The Rams would not go down easily as they came back strong, scoring two goals in a four-minute span to knot the game up at two. The defense would tighten up over the last 25 minutes of play to hold the Rams' offense at two. Thanks to the strong defense, CMSV would be able to create more offensives opportunities. Konate drew a foul just outside the box in the 80th minute to set the Dolphins up with a set piece. Anthony Lima fired off a fantastic shot that could not be handled by the goal keeper and Khari Greene would come in to save the day and bury the rebound to give CMSV a 3-2 advantage. This lead would hold and CMSV secured their third straight conference win.

The men now sit at an overall record of 4-10-1 and a Skyline Conference record of 3-5-1. They will be right back here on Marillac this Saturday as they take on St. Joseph's Long island in another Skyline Conference matchup.
