Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Dolphins Fall To Panthers And Colonials In Non-Conference Tri-Match

Danbury, NY- The Women's Volleyball team was back on the court this weekend following back to back conference wins. This time out they would be taking on two non-conference opponents in Western Connecticut and Plymouth State. CMSV was looking to extend their current two game winning streak.  The Dolphins fell short of doing so as they fell to Plymouth State 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 18-25, 23-25) and WestConn 3-0 (23-25, 16-25, 23-25).

Despite the two losses the Women played well all afternoon against some very stiff competition from the Little East Conference.  Leading the way for CMSV were two outside hitters Tara Maloney and Samantha Schroeder, the duo combined for 42 kills on the afternoon. Maloney Registering 22 and Schroeder adding 20 of her own. On the defensive side of the ball Alexandra Rio continued her solid play for the Dolphins picking up 32 digs over both contests. CMSV will look to build off these loses and continue their success in conference matches.

CMSV now sits at an overall record of 12-8 and a Skyline conference record of 6-1. The Dolphins will now travel to St. Joseph's Long Island to take on the Golden Eagles in a rematch of last year's championship game. A win on Monday will put the Dolphins in a great position to finish with the number one seed going into the playoffs.
