Box Score Patchogue. NY – The Women's Volleyball team was back in conference action on Monday night taking on St. Joseph's Long Island in a rematch of last year's championship. The Dolphins were looking to continue their two game conference win streak. After four sets that is what the Dolphins did as they defeated the Golden Eagles 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-16, 25-17)
CMSV came out after a long bus ride ready to go in the first set flying all over the court in route to a 25-18 first set victory. The Dolphins would stumble a little in the second set, after being in control for a majority of the set the Golden Eagles would make a run and just get by the Dolphins for the second set victory. From here on out the Dolphins would flex their muscles as they jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the third set and never looked back as they cruised to the 25-16 set victory. The fourth set was much of the same as the Dolphins continued to dominate and secure their seventh skyline victory of the year. Leading the way on the offensive end was
Samantha Schroeder,
Tara Maloney and
Rianna Rivera who had 16 kills, 9 kills and seven kills respectively.
Madison Gale would have another nice evening for CMSV recording 34 assists. On the defensive end it was
Alexandra Rio leading the way with 18 digs on the night leading the team, Maloney and Schroeder would follow her with 10 and 9 digs of their own.
The Women will now have one day off before hosting Manhatanville on Wednesday night. The Dolphins will be playing for first place in the conference and the chance to host the Skyline Conference playoffs. The team now sits at an overall record of 13-8 and Skyline Conference record of 7-1.
