Purchase, NY – The Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team hit the road on Thursday evening to take on nearby Skyline Conference Foe Purchase. The Dolphins were looking to win their second straight conference game and continue their good play. CMSV did just that as they cruised to a three set victory over Purchase (25-6, 25-8, 25-8).
Mount Saint Vincent combined for 13 service aces and hit .366 as a team, led by senior outside hitter
Tara Maloney. Maloney paced the Dolphin offense with an impressive six aces to go along with 13 kills on 27 attempts without a single error. Teammate
Samantha Schroeder registered 11 kills, while
Dez Brown recorded six kills on 10 attempts without a single error. Setters
Madison Gale and
Brianna Ayuso combined for 27 of the visitors' 34 assists.
The Dolphins now sit at an overall record of 12-6 and a Skyline Conference record of 6-1. CMSV will take a break from conference play as they travel to Danbury, Connecticut to take on Western Connecticut State and Plymouth State in a tri-match Saturday afternoon.
