Riverdale, N.Y. - After losing their last two conference matchups, the College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's basketball team took to the road and traveled to Brooklyn to take on St. Joseph's College. Despite playing a strong offensive game throughout the four quarters of play, the Dolphins couldn't get stops on defense and fell to the Bears by the score of 90-66.
While the loss was tough, it was for a lack of effort on the offensive end for the Dolphins.
Aria Rheams continued her standout sophomore campaign, as she recorded her sixth double double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. And it wasn't only Rheams who chipped in on offense -
Dez Brown was an impressive 5-7 from the floor and 7-11 on the charity stripe, good for 17 points and nine rebounds while
Leah Pinili had 10 points, eight assists and four rebounds and
Gabriela Goldman chipped in 10 points of her own.
Unfortunately, it wasn't the same situation at the other end of the court. The Dolphins four of the five Bears' starters reach double figures while having five in total. As a whole, St. Joe's Brooklyn shot 45% from the floor while converting 15 of their 19 free throw attempts.
The Dolphins - who now sport an overall record of 4-13 with a conference mark of 3-9 - will look to revert back to their winning ways when Yeshiva University travels to the Sharp Center on January 31.
