Riverdale, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released their seeding for the 2018 Championship Tournament, with the College of Mount Saint Vincent earning the second overall seed. Entering the season ranked number one in preseason polls, the Dolphins finished their campaign with a 13-14 overall record while going 8-2 against conference competition.
Here is what Skyline Commissioner Tom Emberley had to say about the upcoming postseason. "The four-team field is set for the 2018 Skyline Conference Men's Volleyball Championship, with St. Joseph's-Long Island, Mount Saint Vincent, Purchase and Yeshiva all vying for the conference title and an automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship. Top-seeded St. Joseph's-Long Island (21-8, 10-0 Skyline) will play host to fourth-seeded Yeshiva (4-15, 3-7) in Thursday's (April 12) semifinal round at 7 p.m. from the Danzi Center in Patchogue, N.Y. At the same time, second-seed Mount Saint Vincent (13-14, 8-2) will play host to third-seeded Purchase (8-15, 6-4). Thursday's winners will play in the championship final on Saturday at the highest remaining seed."
The Dolphins are led by a veteran-laden roster that has displayed dominance in the past. Both
Neven Skoblar and
Logan Dickover have received All-Conference honors in recent seasons while
Jordan Steiger,
Scott Sawyer,
Augustine Ameruso,
Brendan Ryan,
Jose Estrella,
Sean O'Connor and
Owen Smith have all been key catalysts behind the team's success this season.
The Peter Jay Sharp Center will play host to the semifinal matchup against Purchase College — who CMSV beat both times they faced this season — on Thursday, April 12. The game is slated for a 7:00 PM start.
