Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent impressed on their home floor on Saturday afternoon when they took down Sarah Lawrence College for the first time this season, taking the win in four sets to give the team their fourth conference win of the season.
The Dolphins once again featured a versatile attack, with three different players reaching the double digit kill mark. Freshman
Jose Dominguez impressed against the Gryphons, recording 16 kills on 31 attempts, while also adding seven digs and a pair of blocks. Classmate
Raeden Nieves had 12 with 10digs, while sophomore
Tyler Hanna had an efficient contest with a 61% hit percentage, 11 kills and three blocks.
The team also honored its senior class, with both stepping up in the victory.
Matthew Barrancos had eight kills, four digs and a service ace while
Sean Schools had four digs of his own.
Christian Ferrer set a new career high with 51 assists, orchestrating the offensive in impressive fashion. Fellow freshman
Roel Lucero added a team-best 11 digs, while
Yestro Luciano Jr. collected seven kills, five digs and an ace.
The Dolphins close out their regular season on Saturday against St. Joseph's University Brooklyn.
