Box Score 2 Riverdale, N.Y. - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's baseball team took the field on Tuesday for a double header against New York University. Unfortunately, the results weren't in the Dolphins' favor, as they were on the losing end of both games. CMSV dropped the first contest by the score of 8-0 and lost the second game by five (5-0).
Despite the outcomes, there were some positives during the evening of play.
Freshman
Jordan Perykasz batted third in both games against NYU and impressed. The first baseman combined to go three-for-six against a strong NYU pitching staff, improving his average to .333 on the season. While there were struggles on the mound as well, one bright spot was freshman
John Anthony Pichardo. The right-hander came in for relief in game one and pitched five shutout innings, allowing just three hits in the process. He has yet to allow a run in two appearances in 2018.
The Dolphins are now 6-11 on the season. They'll return to the diamond on April 4 when they travel to Connecticut to take on Albertus Magnus.
