Box Score 2 Riverdale, N.Y. - For the first time in the 2018 season, the College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's volleyball program played at the Sharp Center for the first time, as they hosted both New Jersey City University and Alvernia University in a non-conference tri-match. The afternoon provided mixed results for the Dolphins, as they took the first match against the Gothic Knights by the score of 3-1 but dropped the second to the Golden Wolves 3-0.
In a combination of both games, junior
Jordan Steiger paced all Dolphins with 28 total kills. Sophomore
Scott Sawyer wasn't too far behind, as he finished the two-game tilt with 19 of his own. They weren't the only Dolphins who contributed, as
Neven Skoblar (two aces, 13 kills),
Logan Dickover (73 assists),
Jose Estrella (six blocks) and
Sean O'Connor (four blocks) were key players throughout the afternoon as well.
The split dropped CMSV to 2-6 on the season. Coach Welsh and his team will look to rebound on the weekend of February 10 when they play in the Arcadia Tournament.
