Bronxville, NY - The Mount Saint Vincent women's basketball team traveled to Skyline Conference foe Sarah Lawrence College on Tuesday night, with the hopes of securing their first victory of the season. That is just what the Dolphins did, in dominating fashion, no less. They now moved to 1-4 on the season (1-2 Skyline Conference). The Dolphins won by a score of 57-45.
The first half of play was all Dolphins, who stormed out to a 34-14 lead at the break. CMSV seemed to solve their free throw shooting woes as they knocked down nine of their eleven attempts. Not only did they shoot well from the line but they shot a solid 40% from the field. Sophomore Aria Rheams and freshmen Kadesha Hamilton led the way for the Dolphins in the first half, with each scoring 11 points. Rheams added six rebounds as well.
The second half was much of the same for the Dolphins, who played their best basketball of the season thus far. Rheams continued to dominate the glass, registereing a double double in the third quarter. Freshmen Aaliyah Lyn had a nice second half, which featured a three to close out the third quarter and keep the Dolphins up big. Hamilton was the star of the night, as the freshmen finished with a career high of 18 points. She also added five rebounds.
The Dolphins get right back into action this Thursday when they take on Mount Saint Mary at the Peter Jay Sharp Center. They will look to continue their strong play and attempt get to a .500 record within the Skyline Conference.
