Dolphins Drop Road Contest Against Manhattanville

Riverdale, N.Y. - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's basketball team closed out their 2018 schedule with a road trip to Manhattaville College to take on the Valiants. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, their struggles continued, as they fell to the Valiants by the score of 62-36. The team currently sits at 2-8 on the season with a 1-4 record against Skyline Conference competition.

It was a rough outing for the Dolphins from the start, as the team converted just 23% of their shots in the first half while missing all nine of their attempts from beyond the three point line. Junior Dez Brown was impressive over the first 20 minutes of play, as she went three for five (six points) while bringing in five rebounds.

It was more of the same in the second half of the contest. Once again, the Dolphins missed all of their three point attempts while shooting just 29% from the floor. Brown continued her strong performance, as she tied for a team high in points (10) while also pacing the Dolphins with nine rebounds. Senior Yamilersy Reyes did her part, scoring 10 points of her own. Guard Leah Pinili went seven for nine from the charity stripe while sophomore Aria Rheams and freshman Ivana Montano combined for 14 boards.

The Dolphins will look to turn the tide of their season at the start of the New Year. They open up 2019 with a conference contest on the road against Old Westbury. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 PM.
