Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Dolphins Drop First Conference Game To Bears

Riverdale, N.Y. - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's basketball program participated in their first Skyline Conference contest of the season. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, struggles for the opening minutes of play resulted in a 93-55 loss to St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn.

After a back and forth first three minutes of play, the Bears took control and never looked back. Over the first 20 minutes of play, St. Joe's Brooklyn found contributions from all over their lineup, as Kelly O'Donnell, Jamie Provino and Victoria Porcasi combined for 31 of the team's 47 points, while Lauren Quesada pulled in 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Dolphins had trouble finding the bottom of the basket, as the team shot 32% from the floor in the first half. Junior Leah Pinili paced the team with eight points while freshman Aaliyah Lyn contributed six of her own.

It was more of the same in the second half for CMSV. While Aria Rheams found her stroke with 16 second-half points, the team as a whole converted just 25% of their shot attempts both from two and from beyond the arc. Rheams finished the contest with a team-high 20 points and eight rebounds while senior Yamilersy Reyes scored 14 of her own. Lyn and freshman counterpart Ivana Montano combined for 14 rebounds in the affair.

The Dolphins will regroup over the next 24 hours and prepare for a trip to New York City, where they'll take on Yeshiva University on December 1.
