How It Happened
  • In a rematch of last years semi-finals the Rams wasted no time and got on the board just 56 seconds into the contest.
  • After the early lapse the Dolphins tightened up defensively thanks to Junior Paulina Mandujano, sophomore Alyssa Santeramo and sophomore Grace Barry. They kept the Dolphins tight with top ranked Farmingdale through out the contest.
  • Farmingdale broke through the tough defense for one more score in the first half and extended their lead to 2-0, this score held for the remainder of the half.
  • CMSV came out with fire in the second half, controlling possession and creating multiple opportunities. Morgan Pavlik, Christina Britton and Meghan Duffy led the offensive charge.
  • Finally with 19 minutes to play CMSV got their first score of the game, Pavlik put on pretty move in the box and drew the foul and earned the team a penalty kick. Amy Cohen stepped up to the plate and buried the penalty in the corner and pulled the team within one. The score now 2-1.
  • This score held true for 15 minutes before Farmingdale netted two goals only minutes apart as time was dwindling away, these two goals extended the led to 4-1 with 2 minutes left to play and put an end to CMSV's upset bid.
  • Senior goalkeeper Meaghan Cleary had a fantastic second half and did all she could to keep the Rams from pulling away. Cleary finished the day with 9 saves.
