How It Happened
  • The Dolphins wasted no time getting the crowd into it. They came out pushing the tempo, with Colin Bhat getting his foot on a loose ball and ripped it into a corner only six minutes into the game.
  • After a 13 minute scoreless drought, Maritime found the back of the net to tie things at one with 25 minutes to go in the first half. The offensive action slowed down after that and the defensive intensity picked up. Sophomore Khari Greene and freshman Luke St. Denis led the defense and controlled the back line all day long.
  • Maritime struck first early in the second half to take a 2-1 lead, and for a moment, a put a damper on a beautiful senior night.
  • The Dolphins kept the pressure on and did not let being behind hinder their play. CMSV controlled the ball and had multiple opportunities to tie the game up. The did not come until the 80th minute when Derrick Cordova turned on the second gear and ran by all of Maritime to bury his ninth goal of the season, re-energized the crowd in the process.
  • The 2-2 tie held for the rest of regulation and to overtime we went. The Dolphins came into today's game undefeated in games that went to overtime, and tonight was no different. In the second period of overtime, the dynamic duo of Cordova and Julius Tumukunde struck. Tumukunde started the fast break and him and Cordova played a nice two man game that led to Cordova scoring his second goal of the day to secure a fantastic ending to senior night.
  • Goalie Padelis Astrinidis played out of his mind for the Dolphins, making big save after big save, preventing what could have been a heart-breaking loss. The junior keeper finished the day with an astounding 15 saves.
 What's Next?
  • The Dolphins wrap up their season this coming Wednesday when they travel to Old Westbury to take on the Panthers. CMSV is looking to end their season with a two game winning streak in conference.
