Mount Falls 20-10 vs. USMMA

Puchalski nets 4, while Porter nets 3 in defeat

KINGS POINT, NY - The CMSV Men's Lacrosse team returned to action on Tuesday night, traveling to Long Island to take on Skyline Conference foe, US Merchant Marine Academy. The Mariners had 10 players score on the evening, earning a 20-10 victory over the Dolphins. The loss puts CMSV at 1-7 on the season and 0-5 in conference play.

Michael Puchalski had four goals in defeat for the Mount, bringing his season total to a team-high 15. Tyler Porter scored his first hat trick of the season for the Dolphins, while Ken Brown-Oda, David Collins and Vincent Columbino all scored once on the night. For Columbino, it was his first collegiate goal.

The Dolphins took an 2-1 lead early in the first quarter on two unassisted goals, the first by Brown-Oda at 8:08, the second by Puchalski with 7:18 left in the opening period. The Mariners would answer scoring the next four goal to take a 5-2 lead with over three minutes left in the period. Puchalski would score his second of the night with 2:26 left to make it 5-3, but after that the home-side would impose their will outscoring CMSV 9-1 in the 2nd period and lead 14-4 at halftime.

Each team would score six goals in the second half but that would have little affect on the outcome, as the 14 goal 1st half did the Dolphins in.

Cadeem Jones led the Dolphins with six ground ball pickups and led the team going 7-for-17 on face-off draws. James Fitzgerald and Puchalski each had five ground ball pickups. Frank Bakakos played the final 21:46 in net for the Dolphins and made seven saves. Starting goalie Christian Brody played the first 38:14 and made 11 stops.
