WEST HARRISON, NY - The CMSV Baseball team returned to the diamond on Sunday night, hosting Skyline Conference foe, Yeshiva University on a doubleheader, played at Silver Lake Park. The Dolphins offense exploded for 32 runs, sweeping the Maccabees, winning 15-4 in game 1 and 17-3 in game 2. The wins improve the Mount to 6-10 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
In game 1,
Luis Castillo hit two triples in four at-bats, driving in five runs, while
Robert Negron was effective, pitching 7 innings, allowing 9 hits and 4 earned runs, while striking out 7 batters.
In game 2,
Matthew Nesensohn, hit a 2-run inside the park home-run, en route to scoring 4 runs and driving in three, while
Kyle Tamburi wnet 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and three runs scored.
Michael Kochen started game 2 and pitched a complete game, scattering two hits while allowing three runs, (none earned) and striking out 13 batters. He also helped his own cause at the plate going 2-for-4 with 4RBI and 3 runs scored.
