Nesensohn and Pena have multi-hit games

DOYLESTOWN, PA - The CMSV Baseball team returned to the diamond on Monday afternoon, taking on Delaware Valley in non-conference matchup. The Dolphins, in the midst of playing five games in four days, lost 10-6, putting their record at 6-11 on the season.

Jeremy Glazer took the loss in relief for the Dolphins, falling to 0-1. Glazer came in to relieve Mount starter Bryan Cantero, who struggled with his control all afternoon, issuing five walks and hitting a batter in 2.1 innings. Glazer pitched into the 6th inning allowing 5 runs, (4 earned) on 7 hits in 2.2 innings. Juan Brito pitched 2 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while Siddeeq Ali pitched the final inning giving up 1 hit and fanning 2 batters.

Zachary Saunders drove in a run and scored a run, as did James Valenti and Luis Castillo, who scored twice.

Steven Hansen started the scoring for the Dolphins in the 2nd inning driving a ball through the left side, which allowed Valenti to score and give CMSV a 1-0 lead.

In the 3rd, Saunders lifted a ball to left, deep enough, allowing Castillo to score on a sac fly making the score 2-0. However, in the bottom of the inning the home side plated three runs to take a 3-2 lead.

Valenti hit a sac fly in the 4th inning scoring Pena to tie the game once again but the Dolphins surrendered the lead in the bottom of the inning.

In the 5th, Nesensohn smacked an RBI single to right, allowing Castillo to score his second run of the game, then two batters later, Pena hit a single to center, allowing Saunders to score to make it 5-4 Dolphins.

Del Val blew the game open in the 6th scoring five runs to take a 9-5 lead. The Dolphins would get one back in the 8th, as Pena would score on a passed ball.
