Dolphins Fall In Skyline DH To Maritime

Alvarado launches 2 HR in game 1



THROGGS NECK, NY - The CMSV Baseball team returned to the diamond on Sunday afternoon, traveling across the Bronx to take on Skyline Conference foe SUNY Maritime in a doubleheader. The Privateers swept both games of the twin bill, winning game 1, 8-7, then shut out the Mount 5-0 in game 2.

Game One Notes

The Dolphins scored four runs in top of the 1st inning. Matthew Nesensohn, James Valenti, John T. McEwan all had RBIs in the inning.

Luis Alvarado launched two home runs in the game. A solo shot to right field in the 6th to put CMSV ahead 5-4, then a two-run shot in the 8th to put the Dolphins up 7-4. 

Michael Kochen started for the Mount, going 7.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and five earned runs. Siddeeq Ali, pitching for the 4th time during the week, took the loss, giving up three runs (two earned), in an inning of relief work.

Game Two Notes

The Dolphins bats were stymied by Maritime starter AJ Ammirati, who pitched a complete game one-hitter, while striking out 8 batters.

The Dolphins lone hit off of Ammirati came  in their first at-bat, as Luis Castillo hit an infield single to shortstop.
