PURCHASE, NY - The CMSV Men's Lacrosse team returned to the field on Tuesday night, traveling to Skyline Conference foe, Purchase College, for the first ever meeting between the two schools in men's lacrosse. The Panthers earned their first win in program history with a 14-8, win over the Dolphins.
The Panthers scored the first six goals of the game in less than 10 minutes of action and despite two late Mount goals in the opening period, led 6-2 after 15 minutes of action.
The Dolphin goals were scored by
Brian Sullivan and
Michael Puchalski, who would add another three goals to his season total bringing it to 28 and counting.
Purchase would get three more goals in the second period and would enter halftime with a 9-3 lead.
In the third period,
Tyler Porter opened up the scoring for the Dolphins, scoring his 11th goal of the season. Late in the period,
Ken Brown-Oda notched his 17th goal of the season.
In the fourth period, Puchalski would add his final two goals of the game, then Brown-Oda would also add one more.
James Fitzgerald and
Jaiden Martinez led the team with five groundball pickups each, and caused four and three turnovers respectively.
