Dolphins Fall To MSMC; Puchalski and Porter Score Twice

CMSV remains winless in Skyline play



NEWBURGH, NY - The CMSV Men's Lacrosse team returned to action on Tuesday night, traveling upstate to take on Skyline Conference rival Mount Saint Mary's College. The Knights dominated play in the second half, outscoring the Dolphins 13-1 to win a 21-7 decision. The loss drops CMSV to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

Michael Puchalski and Tyler Porter scored twice for the Mount, while Ken Brown-Oda, David Collins and James Fitzgerald also added a goal for the Dolphins. 

CMSV got on the board first, 31 seconds into play thanks to an unassisted goal by Porter. The Knights responded, scoring the next two goals to take a 2-1 lead with just over nine minutes left in the 1st quarter. 

Puchalski and Fitzgerald scored back-to-back goals at the 7:48 mark and 6:59 mark respectively to give the Dolphins a 3-2 lead. However less than a minute after Fitzy's goal, the Knights tied the game and that's how play would end in the 1st quarter.

In the 2nd quarter, Collins and Puchalski scored a minute apart to put the Dolphins ahead 5-4 with 12:58 left in the half. 

Over the final 6:20 of the 2nd quarter, the Knights would outscore the Dolphins 4-1 to take an 8-6 lead into the locker room.

The home side dominated play in the 3rd and 4th quarter, outscoring the visitors 13-1, while putting an astounding 21 shots on goal and taking 37 total shots in the final 30 minutes. 

The lone Dolphins goal came from Brown-Oda who scored in the 3rd quarter at the 8:12 mark. 

Collins went 11/25 on face-offs and scooped up a team-high five ground balls. Cadeem Jones and Fitzgerald also scooped up five ground balls.
