RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Men's Volleyball team returned to the court on Saturday afternoon, hosting Medaille College in a non-conference matchup. The Dolphins were able to push their winning streak to five in a row with, winning in five sets, 3-2 (23-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 15-8).
Tyler Cucullu once again led all players with 25 kills, while hitting .339% on 59 swings. The senior also added 13 digs and a team-high two aces.
Neven Skoblar tallied a game-high five total blocks, while also smashing 11 kills.
Owen Smith added three solo blocks.
After dropping a tough first set, the Dolphins responded in the second with their most efficient play of the afternoon. The team combined to hit .429% on 28 swings, while only committing three errors.
The teams would split the third and fourth set, setting up a winner take all in the fifth.
The Mount dropped the first three points but then responded winning the next six points, two of which came on solo blocks by Skoblar and freshman
Scott Sawyer. The Mavs got to within one but CMSV would win six of the next seven points, three of which came via Cucullu kill. The winning point came from on a block, from Cucullu, Smith and Sawyer.
