RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Men's Volleyball team returned to action on Friday afternoon hosting non-conference foe, Penn State-Behrend. The Dolphins were looking for their 4th straight victory and fifth in their last six games. CMSV came away with the victory, winning in five sets to improve even their record at 9-9 for the 2017 season .
Senior
Tyler Cucullu led all players with 32 kills, three shy of his career-high. He also added 12 digs, while hitting a robust .361%.
Jordan Steiger chipped in with nine kills and 15 digs, while
Neven Skoblar added seven kills, eight total blocks.
The teams alternated wins with the visitors taking the first and third, while the Mount took the second and fourth.
It was even throughout the match with the teams hitting nearly identical with PSU at .204%, CMSV countered with .200%. The Dolphins totaled three more swing and had four more total kills their opponents.
In the deciding fifth set, CMSV took control early taking a 7-3 lead thanks to a three point run led by kills from Cucullu and
Scott Sawyer and a block by Cucullu and Skoblar.
PSU seemed to gain full control with a four point run turning a 12-10 deficit into a 14-12 lead. Cucullu then came back with back-to-back kills to even the score. They would eventually close out the win thanks to another Cucullu kill and error by PSU.
