PATCHOGUE, NY - The CMSV Men's Volleyball team returned to action on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Long Island to take on Skyline Conference foe St. Joseph's College-Long Island. The Dolphins were unable to compete the season sweep of the Golden Eagles, as SJC-LI exploded for 59 points in the second half to win 82-66, dropping the Mount to 5-16 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
Andrew Curiel recorded his 7th double-double of the season, going for 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while teammate
Myron Hickman added 12 points and seven rebounds.
The first half was close for the duration of the 20 minutes of play, with the largest lead of the half being six points, by CMSV, twice in the half. Hickman would drain a jumper with 9:40 left in the first half to put CMSV ahead 21-15 and then a few possessions later
David Collins would make a layup to put the Mount back up by six with 8:04 left before halftime.
Late in the first half, the Golden Eagles tied the game at 25 but

Trevor Johnson closed out the half with a 3-pointer to give CMSV a 28-23 lead heading into the locker room.
Things changed in the second half as the home side caught fire, shooting 54% from the field in the final 20 minutes, while also connecting on 19-of-24 from the free throw line, compared to 4-of-10 for CMSV.
Curiel would make a jumper at 16:54 to put the Mount up 36-32 but over the next five minutes of action, the Golden Eagles went on a 17-3 run to go up 49-39.
The closest the Dolphins would get would be late in the second half when Hickman buried a 3-pointer to cut the lead down to seven points but they would get no closer.
