RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Basketball team returned to action for the first time in 2017 on Tuesday afternoon, hosting non-conference foe, Hunter College. The Dolphins led the entire way, holding on to down the Hawks 74-64, pushing their record to 7-5 on the season.

However back-to-back layup's by Jade Aponte and Phoebe Valenton cut the Dolphins lead to 28-25 with 3:16 left. Just a minute later, Valenton's made jumper would cut the lead to one, but that would be as close as the Hawks would get. as the Dolphins ended the half on a 6-0 run to lead 35-27.

CMSV opened the third quarter on a 15-5 run to extend their lead to 50-32, in the first six minutes of play. They would continue to make buckets and would increase their lead to a game-high 21 points early in the fourth quarter on an Emily Ott layup to make the score 63-42.

The Hawks would hang around during the final minutes and after back-to-back 3-pointers by Aponte and Theresa Leung, who led the Hawks with 16 points, the Dolphins lead was only six points with 2:12 to play.
