RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Basketball returned to the court on Wednesday night, hosting St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn in a Skyline Conference matchup. The Dolphins never trailed and cruised to a 78-45 victory over the Bears, pushing their win streak to eight in a row and making their record 12-5 overall and 8-2 in conference play, a half-game behind Sage and MSMC for first place in the conference.

Ryan Doherty was the top-scorer for the Dolphins, as the junior put in 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field.
Dez Brown and
Christina Barone were the only other players to score in double figures for CMSV, each scoring 10 points. Barone dished out six assists and pulled down five rebounds in just 18 minutes of action.
The Mount's largest lead of the quarter would come at the 5:50 mark, on
Ryan Doherty 3-pointer, one of 10 that the team would make on the night.
The Dolphins held the Bears scoreless for nearly six minutes to start the game and allowed their opponents to score 12 points in the first and second quarters combined.
The Dolphins lead grew to as much as 33 points in the final second of the second period. The home side made five 3-pointers in the second quarter alone, with
Brittany Carroll making two, with Barone,
Nicole Henderson and
Gabriella Melgar making one each.
In the second half, the Dolphins scoring output slowed a bit, but their defense remained high, as they only allowed the visitors to shoot 21% from the field over the final 20 minutes. CMSV's largest lead of the night would come midway through the fourth quarter on
Haley Garcia's second three-pointer of the second half.
