RIVERDALE, NY -Â The CMSV Women's Soccer team returned to action on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Farmingdale State in an early season matchup of undefeated teams in Skyline play.
The Mount lost 3-1 to the Rams, despite Julia McGowan netting her team & conference best 9th goal of the season.Â
The Rams kept the pressure on nearly constant shots on goal. There were 8 attempts alone before they netted their first goal in 31' from #16 Destiny Pomarico assisted by Alyssa Parrotta and Taylor Howard.
Less than three minutes before halftime, the Rams struck once again to go up 2-0 on the Dolphins. However less than 30 seconds later, McGowan netted her goal to get one back for the Mount and make the score 2-1 going into halftime.Â
Mount GK Elizabeth Martin, who played the duration of the 90 minutes managed to save 18 other shots on goal
The Rams controlled possession and shot attempts in the second half much even more so in the second half, as they attempted 17 shots compared to one for CMSV.
In the 68' Karen Rodriguez scored to give the Rams their third goal and clinch the victory for the visitors.
