RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Men's Soccer team returned to action Wednesday, with their third home game in five days, hosting the NYU Violets in a non-conference matchup. The Dolphins dropped a 3-0 decision, offsetting the team's record to 2-3-1 on the season.
NYU consistently pressured the Dolphins goal in the first half, taking six shots on goal during from the 5' to the 15'. Mount keeper
David Melchor made seven, of his 11 saves in the first half and senior forward
Kevin Jardines was the most aggressive player on the pitch, putting five shots on goal.
The visitor's persistence paid off as they broke through the Dolphins defense in the 37' on a goal by David Victor.
In the second half, the skies opened up but both teams pushed on and continued to drive the ball on net. NYU substitute Nic Notaro recorded a brace with goals coming in the 68' and 75' to put the game out of reach.
