RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Volleyball team opened up the 2016 season on Thursday night, dropping a four set contest to non-conference foe Kean University. The Cougars won the final three sets to secure a 3-1 victory.

The Dolphins won the first set 25-23, totaling 13 kills on 34 attemps for a .265 team hitting percentage. Freshman Tara Maloney tallied seven of her game-high 19 kills in the set. 

In the fourth set with Kean leading by 10 points and five away from winning the match, CMSV won eight of the next nine points to pull to 21-18. Jacqui Johnston and Maria Leineweber each smashed kills to bring their team within two points at 23-21 but a Dolphins attack error and Cougars kills secured the win for the visitors.

CMSV is back in action Tuesday 9/6 when they will host Rutgers-Newark at 7pm.
