BRONXVILLE, NY - The CMSV softball team returned to action Sunday afternoon, taking on Skyline Conference rival Sarah Lawrence College in a doubleheader. The Dolphins swept SLC to win their 11
th and 12
th games in a row, improving their record to 18-12 overall and 13-3 in conference play.
CMSV 9 Sarah Lawrence 1 - Game 1
In game one CMSV hit five home runs, including two each from
Rianna Laughridge and
Rachel Heizer to power the offense.
The scoring started with the Dolphins second batter of the game
Danielle Maffei, who belted a two-run homerun down the left field line to give CMSV a quick 2-0 lead.
In the second inning Laughridge, smacked her second home run in as many days, hitting a solo shot down the left field line making it 3-0.
In the third inning, the Dolphins hit three home runs, starting off with R. Heizer, who belted a two-run homerun to left, the next batter,
Kathryn Dalton, also hit a homerun to left to give CMSV a 6-0 lead. Laughridge came up two batters later and belted her second of the day down the left field line to give the Dolphins an 8-0 lead.
R. Heizer started and pitched all five innings for CMSV, as the sophomore scattered three hits and allowed one unearned run, while striking out six batters.

In game two, the Dolphins smacked three home runs, including another one by Laughridge.
Kierstyn Bourdeau and
Katie Moos also went deep for CMSV.
Dolphins starter
Kathryn Dalton gave up a third inning two-run home run to give SLC a 2-0 lead but the senior rallied back and held her opponents hitless over the final five innings.
CMSV blew the game open in the top of the fifth when they exploded for six runs. Moos started the scoring off by hitting a three-run homer to left to give the lead to the Dolphins.

Samantha Broo and D. Maffei all contributed RBI hits in the scoring rally during the inning.
Upcoming Games
The Dolphins close out regular season play this week, with two scheduled doubleheaders. 4/21, CMSV will travel to Staten Island for a 5pm DH and then Saturday 4/23 the Dolphins will host Sage in the Skyline Conference regular season finale starting at 12pm.
