CMSV 4 SJC-BK 1 - Game 2
In game two the Dolphins worked much harder but still came away with the victory.
Kathryn Dalton started and went the distance for CMSV allowing one run on seven hits, while striking out seven batters. She gave up her only run of the day in the fourth on an RBI double, otherwise Dalton controlled the Bears from the circle.
The Dolphins brought the offense in the first inning, when M. Heizer delivered an RBI single to right allowing
Danielle Maffei to score and make it 1-0.
After the Lady Bears scored in the fourth to tie the game, the Dolphins answered by scoring two runs of their own taking advantage of some defensive errors. Back-to-back errors by the Lady Bears shortstop and center fielder, R. Heizer delivered a two run double to make it 3-1, which was plenty a lead for Dalton to hold.
She closed the door in the fifth, sixth and seventh, facing two batters more than the minimum.
