STATEN ISLAND, NY - The CMSV Baseball team returned to action Wednesday night, taking on the defending CUNYAC champions, the College of Staten Island in a non-conference doubleheader. CMSV dropped game one 10-0 but rebounded to take game two 5-1 to put their record at 2-9 on the season.

CSI starting pitcher Ryan Kennedy, limited the Dolphins to four hits and surrendered no runs over seven innings, while striking out five batters.
CMSV starter
Frank Angeles struggled, lasting only 1.2 innings giving up eight hits and seven runs.
Bryan Cantero came in to relieve Angeles in the second inning and the sophomore pitched 3.1 innings giving up three earned runs on five hits.
Juan Brito pitched a perfect sixth inning with two strikeouts.
Joe Senisi collected two of CMSV's four hits in the game going 2-for-3.
Keith Brodesser and
Steven Giustino went 1-for-3 to round out the four hits for the Dolphins.

After being limited to four hits in the first game, CMSV exploded for 10 hits, all collected by their top three hitters. CMSV Athlete of the Week
Keith Schroeher led the way going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI, while Matt Nesensohn went 2-for4 with an RBI and Giustino went 4-for-4 with an RBI and an run scored.

Michael Kochen went the distance to collect his first win of the season. The sophomore scattered four hits, giving up one earned run while striking out four CSI batters. With his performance the Holbrook, NY native lowered his ERA to 2.89.
The CMSV Dolphins started off the game scoring two runs in the top of the first. Schroeher led off the game with a single, then took second on a passed ball and then stole third. Giustino smacked an RBI double to right field to score Schroeher. Giustino would steal third setting up Brodesser with a runner on third with less than two outs. Brodesser would deliver hitting a sacrifice fly, scoring Giustino making the score 2-0.
In the third, Schroeher led off the inning with a single then scored on an error by CSI to make the score 3-0. CMSV scored two more runs in the fourth on an RBI triple by Schoroeher and an RBI single by Nesensohn.
CMSV returns to action April 2 when they will begin Skyline play with a doubleheader against Purchase starting at 11am.
