FORT MYERS, FL - The CMSV softball team began their second day of games at the 2016 Gene Cusic Invitational Wednesday afternoon & evening against St. Olaf College and Florida SouthWestern College.
The Dolphins dropped both games to fall to 3-5 on the season.
CMSV will take on St. Olaf College Thursday at 9am and The College of Wooster at 11am.
St. Olaf 13 CMSV 2Samantha Broo led the Dolphins notching three of the teams seven hits on the day.
Kathryn Dalton,
Rachel Heizer,
Mackenzie Heizer and
Sirinda Arturi notched the other four hits.
The Dolphins scored their runs in the bottom of the 6th thanks to RBI doubles by Dalton and M. Heizer.
St. Olaf would explode for nine runs in the top of the 7th to put the game out of reach.
Florida SouthWestern College 10 CMSV 2Katie Moos whent 2-for-3 and scored a run, as the first five hitters for CMSV got hits on the day.
CMSV pitching struggled with control as they combined to throw 10 wild pitches, while only striking out two batters.
Dalton and R. Heizer drove in the only two runs for CMSV in the 3rd inning as they Dolphins to leave six runners on base and only manage five hits.
