RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV men's lacrosse team hosted Moravian College on Wednesday afternoon, with the visiting Greyhounds coming away with a 16-9 victory over the Dolphins, dropping the home team to 1-7 on the season.
Seven different Dolphin players scored, led by
Josh James who netted his first hat trick of the season.
CMSV got off to a hot start scoring the games first goal 34 seconds into play thanks to Matthew Dellacorce. James would score all three of his goals in the 1st period.
The highlight of the period came when
Germain Ngaba score to put the Dolphins up 5-4 with only seven seconds remaining in the period.
In the second period Moravian would score the only goals to take a 6-5 lead into halftime.
After the break,
Ken Brown-Oda scored unassisted to tie the game at 6 less than two minutes into play. The Greyhouds would tie the game up 1:12 later but not to be outdone,
Michael Puchalski scored to even the score at 7 apiece.
That would be the last goal the Dolphins scored in over 20 minutes of game time, before scoring two goals in the final three minutes of play.
The Dolphins chances were limited by the Greyhounds as they out shot CMSV by eight in the second period and 16 for the game.
CMSV returns to action Tuesday March 30 when they will host Albertus Magnus at 4:30pm.
