RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV men's lacrosse team returned to action Wednesday afternoon, taking on Albertus Magnus in a non-conference matchup. The Dolphins lost 14-11 to fall to 1-8 on the year.
Five Dolphins scored goals, with
Josh James and
Michael Puchalski leading the way with three apiece, while Michael McEnaney and
Germain Ngaba scored two and
Brandon Brown scoring the other.
The visiting Falcons were far more efficient than the Dolphins in the first half, leading 9-3 after the first 30 minutes of play. Of the 16 shots Albertus Magnus put on goal in the first half, they scored on nine of those shots.
In the second half, the Dolphins came out more aggressive and got results because of it. In the third period, James and Ngaba scored two each to cut the lead to 9-7 but the Falcons would add one after Ngaba's second to put the lead back to three goals.
In the fourth period, the Dolphins scored four goals once again and cut the lead down to two after James's third of the game made the score 13-11. The Falcons would score an unassisted goal with just over a minute to play to seal the victory.
The Dolphins return to action Saturday when they will travel to New Jersey to take on Richard Stockton in the teams first Skyline game of the season at 1pm.
