AUBURNDALE, FLA, - The CMSV Baseball team continued play at the 2016 RussMatt Invitational Tuesday afternoon, taking on Elmhust College in a doubleheader. The Dolphins dropped both games to the Bluejays to fall to 1-7 on the season.
Elmhurst 13 CMSV 4 - Game 1The Dolphins only managed three hits en route to scoring four runs. The team was able to earn 10 walks off of two Bluejay pitchers, nine of which came off of Elmhurst's starting pitcher.
Keith Schroeher walked three times while
Brandon Pasquale and Joe Senisi both walked twice.
Matt Nesensohn continued to drive the ball as he doubled in two runs for CMSV in the 7th inning.
Frank Angeles started for the Dolphins but only lasted 3 innings, giving up five runs, on five hits. He struck out two batters but issued five free passes.
Juan Brito was effective in his two innings of relief working the sixth and seventh innings without giving up a run and striking out two batters.
Elmhurst 10 CMSV 2 - Game 2In game two Elmhurst scored four runs in the first two innings off CMSV starter
Tyler Krolikowski, who lasted 4.2 innings giving up five earned runs on nine hits. He did strike out seven batters while issuing only one walk.
Bluejays starter Austin MacMillan limited the Dolphins to six hits over seven innings. He struck out eight batters and gave up only the two earned runs.
Nesensohn added another hit and RBI in the sixth inning. while
Luis Alvarado smashed an RBI double in the 7th inning.
The Dolphins wrap up play at the 2016 RussMatt Invitational Wednesday at 10:30am when they will take on Loras College.
