Dolphins Drop 13-4 Decision To Manhattanville

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Four different College of Mount Saint Vincent men's lacrosse players netted goals Saturday afternoon at Riverdale Country School, as the Dolphins dropped a 13-4 decision to visiting Manhattanville College.
CMSV (1-6) pulled to within a 2-1 count with 3:50 left in the first period, when defender James Fitzgerald (2 ct, 7 gb) went the length of the field on a clear to bury a man-down tally past the Valiants (3-2) goalie.
Mount Saint Vincent added three more goals in the second stanza, with Michael Puchalski ripping the rope for his 11th tally of the season with 11:17remaining until halftime. Germain Ngaba (7-for-10 FO, game-high 8 gb) followed suit with 5:48 left, before Joshua James's sixth goal of the season found the netting with 1:59 to go, as the Dolphins went into halftime with 7-4 deficit.
Manhattanville outscored the hosts by a 6-0 count over the final 30 minutes to secure the victory.
Ngaba and Tyler Porter (6-for-11) helped Mount Saint Vincent to acquire offensive possession time, combining to go 13-for-21 at the face-off "x" on the afternoon. Arben Gashi made nine saves in the Dolphins cage over 53:23 of action, before Frank Bakakos turned aside three Manhattanville shots while allowing just one score.
Head coach Andrew Wendol's Dolphins are back in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon (March 23), when they play host to Moravian College at Riverdale Country School for a 4 p.m. opening face-off.
