Dolphins Overpower Yeshiva In 74-44 Victory

Barone, Carroll & Gundermann Score Double Figures

RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV women's basketball team won their third straight game on Wednesday night with a 30 point victory over Yeshiva University. The victory puts the Dolphins at 12-8  overall and 9-3 in Skyline play.

Christina Barone once again led the way for the Dolphins with her dishing and swishing, the junior tallied 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-4 from 3-point land while dishing out nine assists. During CMSV's three game winning streak, Barone is shooting 60% from 3-point land and averaging 13pts/g and 11.3ast/g.

Brittany Carroll added 12 points and Alexandra Gundermann chipped in with 11 points, while grabbing four offensive rebounds. Both players shot 50% from the field.

The Maccabees scored the first basket of the game and that would prove to be their only lead of the game as the Dolphins seized control early on in the first quarter. The Dolphins made 6-of-10 from 3-point land in the first quarter to lead 29-13 after the first 10 minutes of play.

Both teams struggled to find any offensive rhythm in the second quarter but the Dolphins were able to force nine Yeshiva turnovers in the quarter despite shooting 5-of-19 from the field.

CMSV came out in the third quarter and took it to their opponents as they shot 10-of-16 from the field in the quarter which increased their lead to a game-high 33 points late in the period.

The large lead allowed all 16 active members of the team to log minutes and all recorded a statistic. Freshman Emily Ott put in eight points and grabbed four rebounds in just 10 minutes of play.

The Dolphins return to action on Saturday at 1pm when they will travel to Long Island and look to complete the season sweep of St. Joseph's Long Island.
