Dolphins Snap 6 Game Losing Streak With Win Over Sarah Lawrence

Ferebee Leads Way With 24 Points

BRONXVILLE,  NY - The CMSV men's basketball team took on Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday night and defeated the Gryphons 74-67, to snap a six game losing streak and bring their record to 9-15 overall and 8-11 in Skyline play.

Jamir Ferebee led CMSV scoring 24 points, including a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. This is the sixth time in the last eight games that Ferebee has eclipsed the 20 point mark. Trevor Johnson and Matthew Sowah chipped in with 10 points each, while Mamadou Mariko grabbed a team high 11 rebounds, in his first career start.

In the first half the Dolphins shot the lights out, connecting on 6-of-10 from 3-point land and hitting 52% from the field. Jesse Regina and Jose Maestre were perfect on their attempts in the first half and Johnson connected on two of three from distance as CMSV would take a 37-34 lead into halftime.

A little over five minutes into the second half the Dolphins would push their lead to 10 points on a layup by Andrew Curiel and after a three pointer by Regina and layup by Ferebee on back-to-back possessions, the Dolphins would take their largest lead of the game at 60-48 with 8:17 left in the game.

Down the stretch, the Gryphons would try and mount a comeback but would only get as close as four points in the final minute as the Dolphins would hold on for a seven point win.

CMSV closes out the season on Saturday February 20, when they will travel to Long Island to take on Farmingdale State at 2pm.
